Chandigarh: Punjab Police has continued its intensified drive against drugs under the campaign “Yudh Nashian Virudh”. On the 417th day of the campaign, police teams achieved a major breakthrough by arresting 98 drug smugglers across the state.
During the operation, the police recovered 1.1 kg of heroin, 67 kg of poppy husk, 514 intoxicant tablets and capsules, along with ₹7,430 as drug money from the possession of the accused.
With these arrests, the total number of drug smugglers apprehended under the campaign has reached 60,008 in just 417 days, highlighting the sustained efforts of the Punjab Government in its fight against drug trafficking.
The authorities reiterated their commitment to continue strict action against those involved in the drug trade and to make Punjab drug-free through consistent enforcement and public cooperation
