Chandigarh: Reaffirming its commitment to the welfare and holistic development of dependent and vulnerable children, the Punjab Government has released financial assistance worth ₹35.50 crore for the month of March in the financial year 2026–27.
Sharing the details, Minister for Social Security, Women and Child Development, Dr. Baljit Kaur stated that the assistance will directly benefit more than 2.36 lakh children across the state, ensuring timely support to those in need.
Highlighting the Government’s continued focus on child welfare, the Minister informed that a budget provision of ₹432.78 crore has been allocated for the financial year 2026–27. This allocation aims to ensure uninterrupted financial assistance to eligible beneficiaries and strengthen the implementation of the scheme.
The Minister emphasized that the Punjab Government remains committed to securing a better future for children by prioritizing their overall development and well-being.
